The Moreau family is a domestic firm from father to son founded in 1896.
Since this date, four generations followed each other in this region set on the hill of Montlouis, in the heart of France.
The area of our vineyard is around 10 hectares, exploited in the tradition.
The age of vines varies between 10 and 80 years, that allows to develop wines from vine chenin, also called "pineau de la Loire", in sec, demi-sec, moelleux, and "méthode traditionnelle", brut or demi-sec, according to the age and orientation of the plots.
All the grape-harvesting which enter in our wine and spirits storehouse are made handly and matures in casks during several months, that allow to sell a part of our harvesting in bulk.
The "méthode traditionnelle" developped in our cellars thanks to young vines (in order to obtain degrees varying from 10° to 11,5° of alcohol) is made "in the tradition" (as its noun suggests), so the turning of the bottles take place daily (in the morning and in the evening, 3,000 bottles are turned in 20 to 30 minutes) on sections by our care.
We need at the minimum 12 months to present to you the "méthode traditionnelle" brut or demi-sec.
We also product a Touraine rosé with the taste of red fruit, obtained by the assembling of vintages côt and grelot.
